Welcome to the Divine Love Fellowship Forum – a “community of consciousness” whose purpose is to support and encourage each member’s quest for spiritual truth.
The central focus of this forum is “divine love,” i.e., God's love. The DLF’s starting premise is that love is the ultimate spiritual truth, and God's love the ultimate love.
There've been countless references to divine love through the centuries, often traceable to the term agape, an Aramaic word variant quite possibly coined by Jesus of Nazareth. Through the sharing of our thoughts and experiences, we seek to deepen our understanding of this agape, or "special love."
A topic of particular interest in the DLF is spirit-mortal communication. Many of us first encountered the term divine love in a collection of channeled writings purportedly received from Jesus (and others) by James Padgett, a Washington D.C. attorney, in the early years of the last century. In these messages are teachings of a divine pathway of soul transformation. This transformation, or “new birth,” is brought about by the prayer for and reception of divine love into the human soul.
This transformation is described as an unending journey – continuing, along with human life, beyond physical death. Beginning with heartfelt longing, this gift of divine love is planted like a seed within the human soul. With guidance and care, the seed grows, eventually blossoming into a state described by Jesus as "at-onement with God."
We welcome those from all spiritual disciplines and traditions who wish to explore divine love and all its facets.
In the spirit of the Divine Love Fellowship:
In addition to being a place where divine love can be talked about, the Forum also exists as a place for divine love to be manifested. Insofar as love can be expressed as words on a computer screen, our desire is that the Forum exist as a sanctuary of love on the internet. One definition of love: “To extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth.”
While the exchange of ideas and feelings in the Forum may be passionate at times, it is our goal to keep the flow of communication based upon mutual giving from the heart. Such communication is characterized by deep listening, respect, and empathy. It is also characterized by the absence of ad hominems – inappropriate evaluations of another's character, intelligence, motives, etc.
In short, we ask that all participants observe the law of love, and “love thy neighbor as thyself” when posting to the Forum.
About Spirit Communication:
While acknowledging the usefulness of all "holy books," spiritual revelations, and self-help guides, we believe that the quest for spiritual truth is ultimately a deeply personal endeavor – something between you and God:
“Into each soul has God breathed the spirit of truth. Believe this spirit before all else.”
The Divine Love Fellowship acknowledges each person’s ability to discern and substantiate spiritual truth. We believe that a prolonged and sincere desire to know truth opens the doors of physical and spiritual perception, and draws us to the truth that we seek. We also believe that “soul development” through the reception of divine love is the single most important thing one can do to foster the soul’s capacity to perceive and utilize spiritual truth.
We acknowledge that the accuracy of any spiritual revelation or mediumistic channeling is dependent upon a number of factors, including the environmental, mental, emotional, and soul conditions of both the mortal receiver and the spirit-author. Since it is often impossible to objectively verify the source or accuracy of a particular channeling, it is our conviction that the truth or untruth of any information received through mediumship must ultimately be discerned and determined by the reader.
About Spiritual Truth and Revelation:
The Fellowship emphatically does not advocate dogmatic adherence to any spiritual revelation or belief system. We strive to be “spiritual scientists” – our ultimate allegiance to truth alone. We know from experience that our quest for truth will inevitably take us beyond the comfort zone of traditional doctrines and beliefs.
We hold absolute respect for the sanctity of human freewill, and so make no attempt to dictate the nature and content of another's spiritual beliefs. As spiritual scientists, some of our explorations will necessarily lead to dead-ends. There's no shame in this: it's part of the process. The appearance of any topic, post, or discussion in the Forum does not constitute an endorsement by the Fellowship or its members.
Through the synergy of collective inquiry and discussion, the DLF Forum seeks to support its members’ quest for truth, beauty, and goodness.
